City Hall weddings
City Hall ceremonies, then the photos
San Francisco City Hall is one of the city's best-loved places to get married, and plenty of couples spend the hours after the ceremony on photos around town. Send us your ceremony time and the spots on your list, and we'll plan the car around them.
Popular photo stops include the Palace of Fine Arts, the Golden Gate Bridge from Crissy Field or the Presidio, Baker Beach, the Painted Ladies at Alamo Square and the Ferry Building on the Embarcadero. Some have very little room for a car to wait, so your chauffeur drops you as close as the rules allow, and we confirm the meeting point before the day.
Booking an hourly chauffeur keeps the same car with you from the City Hall steps to the last photo and on to lunch or dinner, with a 3-hour minimum. If the photos turn into a longer drive around town, our private city tours page shows how a sightseeing day is planned.
Wedding transportation timelineMap the day, one ride at a time
The easiest way to plan wedding transportation is to write every ride as its own line: when it leaves, where from, where to and who's in it. The example below is for a ceremony and a reception at separate venues. Yours might have fewer rides or more.
| Ride | Who rides | Where | Vehicle to consider |
|---|---|---|---|
| Getting ready | The couple, in separate cars if you're not seeing each other first | Hotel or home to the ceremony | Executive Sedan or Luxury Sedan |
| Wedding party | Bridesmaids, groomsmen or the whole party together | Hotel to the ceremony | Luxury Sprinter, up to 14 passengers |
| Family | Parents and grandparents | Home or hotel to the ceremony | Executive SUV or Luxury SUV |
| Photos | The couple, plus a photographer if you book an SUV | Ceremony to photo stops, then the reception | Sedan or SUV, booked by the hour |
| Send-off | The couple | Reception to your hotel | Luxury Sedan |
Rides that overlap need their own car
If the wedding party and the family leave for the ceremony at the same moment, that's two vehicles. If they can leave in turns, one vehicle may cover both, and your quote will show the difference.
Gaps between rides
When the car would sit for hours between the ceremony and the reception, two separate point-to-point rides can make more sense than keeping a chauffeur all day. When the gap is short, staying by the hour is simpler. We'll suggest the approach in your quote, and our guide to hourly or point-to-point explains the trade-off.
Cars for the couple, the party and family
Every vehicle comes with a professional chauffeur. A Luxury Sedan suits the couple, a Luxury SUV suits parents and grandparents, and the Luxury Sprinter carries the wedding party together. Gowns, garment bags and bouquets take room, so tell us what's riding along. You can compare all five classes on the fleet page.

What helps us quote your wedding
The more of the day we can see, the closer the first quote is to the final plan.
Every address
Where you're getting ready, the ceremony, each photo stop, the reception and where everyone goes at the end of the night.
Times that can't move
The ceremony start, a first look, a dinner seating. Tell us which times are fixed and which can flex.
Who rides in each car
Names or roles for each group, plus a phone number for whoever is in charge of it on the day, if that isn't you.
Dresses and extras
Gowns with long trains, garment bags, bouquets, gifts coming home. Bulky items change the vehicle we suggest.
Seats for little ones
Flower girls and ring bearers may need a seat. Request infant, child or youth booster seats in the quote form, and we confirm them with the price.
Your planner's timeline
If your planner has written a timeline, paste the key parts into the notes in the quote form or email it to info@sf.limo.
Venues and times set? Ask for a wedding quote.
Send the plan as it stands, and we'll reply with vehicles and a price before anything is booked.
Getting guests between venues
Some couples want to look after their guests too: a ride from the hotel to the ceremony, or back from the reception at the end of the night. Guest transportation is quoted per request, so tell us how many guests, which places and roughly when.
The Luxury Sprinter seats up to 14, so a larger group means more than one vehicle or more than one run. Your quote lays out how we'd cover it, ride by ride, for the times you send.
Guests flying in can be part of the same request. Airport transfers from SFO, Oakland or San José include 45 minutes of free waiting time, and you can book a ride for someone else with their name and phone number.
Waiting, overtime and changes on the day
To keep a chauffeur with you from the ceremony through the reception, book by the hour, with a 3-hour minimum. Additional waiting time and extra hours are charged per minute at the hourly rate for your vehicle class.
Separate rides include 15 minutes of free waiting. Free waiting time starts at the scheduled pickup time you choose. Leave a little room in each pickup time, because photos and toasts tend to run long.
If the timeline shifts on the day, call us at (415) 881-6199. We're available 24/7.
Your trip is reserved only after we confirm the vehicle, time and price with you. Free cancellation at least 24 hours before scheduled pickup. Later cancellations and no-shows are charged the full reservation price. The full cancellation policy explains how the 24 hours are counted. Your quote shows how and when payment is due.
How hourly service worksWedding transportation questions
Can you cover a City Hall wedding and photo stops?
Yes. Send your ceremony time and the photo spots you have in mind. Booking a sedan or SUV by the hour keeps the same car with you between stops.
Will a wedding dress fit comfortably?
Tell us about the dress, especially a long train, and anything else coming along. An SUV or the Luxury Sprinter gives the most room, and we'll choose the vehicle with you.
Can you drive our guests between the hotel and the venue?
Tell us how many guests, which places and when. Guest rides are quoted per request, and your quote shows how many vehicles or runs it takes.
Should we book by the hour or ride by ride?
Book by the hour when you want the chauffeur to wait with you, with a 3-hour minimum. Book separate rides when there are long gaps between them.
How far ahead should we ask for a quote?
As soon as your venues and times are set. You can adjust the plan before you confirm, and nothing is booked until you do.
Can someone else be the contact on the day?
Yes. Add the passenger's name and phone number when you book for someone else, and we'll arrange the pickups with them.
Do you cover weddings outside San Francisco?
Yes. We drive in all nine Bay Area counties: Alameda, Contra Costa, Marin, Napa, San Francisco, San Mateo, Santa Clara, Solano and Sonoma. Venues in Marin, the Peninsula and wine country are all inside our service area.
What is your cancellation policy?
Free cancellation at least 24 hours before scheduled pickup. It's counted in Pacific time from when we receive your call or email. Later cancellations and no-shows are charged the full reservation price.
